The driver door does not have bolts for the spot mirror, nor does it have the holes for them. Only the passenger side.

 

It doesn't make a difference. Tried while at home talking to a base station 20 miles out and he said the best it got for me was when I mounted to the mirror on top of the passenger door where the mirror that looks down is. Holes on perch don't line up so its held on by one. Have a buddy making a bracket to go there for when I get home

 

Then based on that theory a wilson style mount on drivers door and a 6-7 top loaded fire stick should do the same correct..In my case i have a a wilson like mirror mount that has a 40" shaft to which my single coiled predator 10k mounts(its on a 6" shaft)so in essence my load could is about 40" above my mirror on my cascadia..My impedence is a shade high and that might be coax quality,i would also think the lack of metal under the coil but the idea of ground wires is a battle im not gettin into..My resonce is pretty good most of the way across all 40 ch but thats ant tuning to ballance that more one way or the other..I just dont
Understand my range issue..Is it my set up or the others all have crappy set up..Its rare to #### chat more than a cpl miles goin in opposite directions..I have talked to some local to me at the time hammers that were 35 mi away and i get a cpl thou miles through skip but skip dont really count..Thats just perfect conditions in the ionosphere..
If i ever get anything back from hard drive at fine tuneill have him tweek my radio,maybe its my end..Itsbeen a week or more sence i sent a msg on fb and his email..

My findings are its a POS fiberglass truck with no reflect and with a 200w kicker causes interference with the ECM... my response...sell it and buy a metal truck.

I use one of those mirror mounts but when I use an antenna over 4 1/2' the receive tanks. The static dies down to almost nothing and people are out of range while I can still see them.
