Nah. That antenna is 7-1/4 feet overall.
The 102, on the other hand? Every time I go through Chicago proper... PING! PLANG! BOING!

No matching problems with a full 1/4 wave antenna. Problems increase as the length decreases. That is why 102" + spring is the BEST option, if you can swing the hight. My first mobile set up included a 102" hooked to the bumper of my 70 Buick Skylark with a mount similar to this. Not the best location to mount an antenna, but using a full 1/4 wave antenna overcomes lousy mounting options. And yes I had a little doo-hickey mounted to the rain gutter where I could bend it down out of the way when needed.......those WERE the days!
Bumper, bored silly and rabbiporkchop Thank this. -

They still make them!!! I briefly searched for a picture of a whip on a car. All I found were pics of PKs and SUVs sporting a 102". Maybe I'll bring back the "look"! I might as well. I'm about at the age to break out the Bermuda shorts, and black socks with sandals!! Retro all the way! Can't use a a doo-hickey like below though without a rain gutter........Hmmmmmm
