    Oh yeah..The entire bracket will have to be changed in order to use the 7 footer..

    All i have is my predators(single/duel coil...6"/18"/22" shaft...
    A 4.5 ft fs with the wire up top for tuning
    A 5 ft fs with tune able tip

    Now you just need a rectangular plate with a couple holes and a couple plastic insulators

    My bracket was slick SS. I took a dremel tool with one of those cutting wheels and just etched me some lines in the bracket. It was slipping before, hasn't slipped since. It doesn't take much.

    I'm thinking I could make a side business out of straightening up poor antenna systems. I was rolling into the truckstop last night and heard a guy asking for a radio check. He sounded like he was miles away. After I got parked, I realized he was right next to me.

    After I popped the brake buttons, he walked over to talk to me. Come to find out, he had just installed a new antenna and new coax. He said his radio was saying that the antenna system needed to be checked. I offered to hook it up to my RigExpert and after doing so, found that the antenna system was shorted.

    My first clue was that he's one of those guys whose only tool is a pair of channel lock pliers. He had the coax on the back of the radio torqued down to about 350 lb/ft and metal shavings everywhere. Same deal at the other end.

    The plastic stud insulator had so much metal shavings on it, that it was making a good connection from the center post to the bracket.

    I had him go get a new stud, straightened everything out, and tuned his new antenna. The next radio check was followed by two other drivers saying, "Dang, driver, what did that guy do to your radio? It sounds a lot better now."

    I know a guy that used to sit at the TA truck stop in Ontario California in between loads and doing antenna work for cash on the side

    Why would you mount your antenna on the drivers door vs the passenger door? Tell me. Trees maybe?

    I know on my dump truck I had to occasionally reset my roof mag mount. But I was local and in a lot of subdivisions.

    Oh OK I just wondered about all the extra abuse on the coax snaked through the door jamb. Is there anything special to protect the coax from getting smashed or is the weatherstripping very forgivable?

    I ran my coax on my city mack through the wing window on the passerger side. Really didn't have to get out far only talked to loaders in the quarry.


    PS I am now in a 2014 Cascadia wanting to get away from the internal antenna setup.
