    I had 7 foot Firestick, but that dealer has gone to recommending an external coil Browning, because of the weight and flexing of the Firestick. There is another antenna that is sold alongside the Browning that is 6 inches taller


    The Firestick failed where it threaded into the mount; it had crystallized and broke while I was removing some ice from it.

    Have a 5 foot tunable tip Firestick II on it now.

    I used a short Francis for awhile, and was able to talk with that.

    That 7ft SkipShooter I use wouldn't last long either the way it flops around. But with the support I made for it, it has held up and performed really well so far.

    I always use 3/8 "303 stainless" rod for my shafts regardless of length.

    Take a measurement and have somebody make you one. That is what I did with the mirror mount. Got it done a lot cheaper than I could have bought it and mine is made out of stainless steel instead of aluminum. Of course I have a good friend that has a welding shop and is willing to help me out for little or nothing on my many projects.

    Draw back about that mount is that your coax gets jammed in tje doorway..Dont wanna squat the coax "AT ALL"..Yes i k ow someone will say there is flexability in the door seal but still..Now thats room for hot/cold air in summer or winter and water when it rains to get it..

    Nope im not liken that mount...

    Tried the c clamp style on my 2016 cascadia..Effing useless...Swr would not drop below 2.4..My reflection # was half of what i would expect and my r and x #'s matched and were way off..Even my mfj 259b was sayin "WTF"!!..Tried two ground straps on tje door hinges and nodda..

    Took me a yr off and on to work all this crap out on my volvo,now this new teuck to do it all over again..If i ever take a heart attack,ya all will know why..lol

    As has been posted on this thread, you have to use the right antenna. The load has to be above the top of the door or even higher like my 7ft SkipShooter, but it will work if you do that.

    I have predator 10k's with a custom 18" shaft and top mast..I still have my 6 and 9" shafts as well..So my ant is not the prob..Neither am i gonna mount on top of the door,to much flexability from the door plus more signal hets blocked from that side...Add that to my already posted reasons why i dont like that mount..
    I tried a short shaft,long shaft,grounding the door,useing one coil vs two with longer whip..Even leaned it 30 or so deg,nope..
    I know im missing something but just dont know what...My mfj ant tuner is telling me but im just not hearing..
