Maybe it's a common mode current transmitting inside your cab

Not sure what common mode is..key is off and nothing but truck ecm and qual comm on.....
5 ft fibregalss ant show promice on the AA but show a higher swr on 1 than 40 which means its to short..Before ya all go off and say swr blah blah blah stuff,i know.....Its my guide as to which way to tune...Yes i know the r is supposed to be near 50 ohms and my x to be as close to 0 but like i said..Its my guide..

I changed to the ss mount and hard drives hd stud and pretty much same results....I know my 10 k just dont like anything else other than the tall mount..
Thats the last set up i just did..Maybe some more lean will help but im not thinkin it will be worth the effort to try and tune.

I think taking one step at a time is needed.

I have a FS meter here and with 10 watts on a dipole in the backyard I can get it to move. SO if you are standing at a truck - not your own - and it doesn't work, then the meter is defective. If it does, then have someone stand with the meter at the same distance by your truck and see what happens when you key the mic.

Finished re mounting my 40" cascadia mount and my god the difference on the AA....
Dont get it but i know its not right
Someone once mentioned wrapping the coax around and below the feed point of my tall ant mount..Something to do with rf i think..Does it have to be all coiled close together or coiled (spaced) up the length of the shaft to the feed point.
I got it done anyways cause i dont have any wire ties left..
Will it hurt or help my radio at all..

The last set of #'s was with that ss mount you see in my pic..A 5 ft procomm basic fibreglass antenna that came on the truck..No tuning or nothing..Just mount and apply the AA to it to see where i am..

This is with my 40" tall mount and my 10k as of now..Sittin in a rest area with a truck anout 200 ft in front and another about 100ft to my right..
Ill tell ya though..With my fs meter(assumeing its working correctly)@ 10 ft or more the needle barely moves with power and mic maxed out..On the dash o get about mid 20's out of my mfj 802(di pole rec fs meter)meter..
My signal acts like a limp dik at a porn try out..
