Ok..in this dipole deal..The mount thats attached to mirror arm can not be grounded to door...Correct???
The ground antenna must not be grounded either correct??
Ok so my 1st question is,how does it tune that way cause as far as i understand it that ant needs to be tuned 1st...Now im assumeing ill be tuneing for middle of the cb band(27.185)...
2nd question...Once tuned the ground ant will be moved to the downward position and now ill install the upward ant...Is that ant supposed to be un grounded as well and tuned to 27185 as well....
I also courious as to how the ground element is affected by being so close to my door/hood area..
Seeing im on my treatment day today i can go through the treads to find where i went wrong...
Oh and i believe you said rabbi that ant length or type doesnt matter for the ground element..correct??..
Will wrapping electrical tape around the mounting bracket bolt shaft suffice in keeping the bolt body contacting the mount bracket( where bolt goes through the mount)and then plastic washers on either side of bracket so no metal to metal contact with truck and bolt head..
