Sorry about all the thumbnails, learning this uploading pics deal. Done it with my camera off my mirror mount. Driver's side or passanger side, heavy Steel $39.99
-
Looks sturdy and gotta luv the built in 20ish deg angle..
Where did you buy it..Is it cheap steel or painted stainless? -
I think 45 degree angle is a bit much but it looks strong.bored silly Thanks this.
-
Now you have a mount, get you some coax and an antenna.
-
Skellr..You think thats a 45 deg???? Hard to tell by the pic BUT remember @ speed a fibreglass ant will pretty much straighten up to..Even the whip on some of the ext coil ant will bend some twards the 90 deg(vertical)
-
Fiberglass antenna seems to break off at the base faster when they are angled that far forward. At least the 4.5'-5' ones do.
-
Use heat shrink @ the base or some pvc pipe to sturdy it up..Thats what i did with my 7ft skip shooter
-
Actually it is 30° which still might be a little much, but the antenna is vertical running down the road....and it is heavy steel, not gonna give whatsoever.
bored silly Thanks this. -
Craig it is heavy steel, this won't bend. I picked it up at Clay's radio shop San Antonio Texas. You can get driver's side or passenger side $39.99..I mentioned to them about the degrees of the antenna mount hole, and they was aware of the degrees..said if you use a coil could it gets it way in front of windshield...well it does just that.got a 13 inch riser under the coil, and swrs 1.5 across the channels.
