Make sure you have hit the brakes and the clutch at least once and make sure your retarder is off, then turn the cruise on.
Do your jakes work by chance?? My last truck was a new cascadia no cruise no jake, found out the hard way coming down some mountain in the west.
Wow, finding this old thread took dedication. The truck was brand new and the cruise control had been disabled, maintenance turned it back on and it worked like a charm. But I haven't driven that truck in over a year.
I'm in a 2015 cascadia that does this to me all the time. Reading this post helped me alot as I needed to engage the clutch and brake at least once while rolling when this problem occurs and the cruise would then engage. And my 2015 has a battery cut off switch on the floor to the left of the driver seat.
When the onguard system has an error it will usually kill the cruise. Sometimes you can get the cruise back by cycling it on, off, then on again before you set a speed.
