It was discussed earlier. My formula says 108 inches.
Ridgelines formula says much shorter. I would start with 108 inches and trim as needed

I dont have any theory to know rabbi..Make me think as you say is not gonna work without some sorta background in ant theory...
You mentioned about the the 108", we referring to that other wire or the 5.5 firestick which i think doesnt tune long enough??
The firestick has the tuneable tip not the wire you trim..

Now am i doin that rf wire deal even with the dipole idea?????
Your last reply didnt really answer anything..

Craig, Just get ten feet or 3 meters of 16 gauge insulated wire and start with that.

I see the diagram but thats all i understand of its purpose...Is opposite end attached to anything and how the name of god do i tune it..Do i ise my ant analyzer and tune it by length with ant installed or not..
Do i use that with 1 ant or dipole....Once again how do i know its working, what am i supposed to notice??
This idea is totally forign to me..

No it doesn't attach to anything, it just gives an RF ground to the system. You can tape it or tie wrap it to the truck.

You can tune it with the AA but it may be difficult.

What I would to is string it across the windshield to see what the system acts like.

There's probably about 15 feet of wire in your five and a half foot fire stick

Ok so im trying the 40"tall cascadia dipole idea...
To cold and dark to finish but with a 5.5 ft and a 4 ft fs i seem to need to tune my ground ant(pointing downwards one)down to 25,785 range to get resonance and lowesr swr...So how close does the ground element have to be to the tx/rec ant tune wise..
Just with my 10k i can tune to 1.12 swr and +/- a cpl points of resonance(x #)and about 40 ohm resistence...When i sit at almost perfect resonance i can watch my pf # go from roughly 700 to 110000 for a split second then back to zero..
Here is a cpl pics of what i started but couldnt finish..
