Guess who’s driving a newer Cascadia for about a week?
What is this fifth wheel lock all about. I think I have it figured out. Just want to make sure.
Yes, my company never knows nothin’. I have to learn myself.

Fifth wheel lock? Got a pic ? Most I had seen in the post were like a door that swings out of the way .

I think you activate the switch, the jaws open, then you release the parking brake and ease out from under the trailer. It’s been a while since I used one though.
WesternPlains Thanks this. -
If you have three horizontal toggle switches above the climate control knobs the closest to passenger seat is to release locking pins to slide the fifth wheel.
WesternPlains and Moosetek13 Thank this. -
That's usually on a black pull valve like the brakes. Normally it's located in the top left of the center dash section, unless they changed this in the redesign of 18+ modelsWesternPlains Thanks this.

Its on dash at right,,second one down unless dash changed since '14
WesternPlains Thanks this. -
You are right, I was thinking of the unlock for the jaws instead of the slider. The Peterbilts were always confusing when releasing the jaws via the dash switch. I rarely drive a truck with one but the cascadia is on a pull button to release the jaws.WesternPlains Thanks this.

It does get confusing when you have to jump into multiple trucks, like you stated the Pete's are a rocker switch, international have a dash switch, and cascadia are the pull valve.WesternPlains and shogun Thank this.

The one that releases the fifth wheel jaws are nice, don't have to reach under and possibly get my nice white shirt dirty
WesternPlains and Woodys Thank this.
