When you shut down the power with the load disconnect switch, does it shut down the power to the engine block heater also? It's going to get below zero here at home, and I always shut down the main power when I'm parked for 4-5 days, but don't want to kill the power to the engine heater as I have it plugged in. Thanks!

I know it shuts down everything INSIDE the truck as I'd always have to reset my clock when I came back on duty, but I'm not sure about outside the truck. I'm guessing...and I really do mean guessing, that since you are plugging the block into shore power, it may still heat the block up even if the main power is shut off. Hopefully someone with more info will respond to you.

    Good question though.

Our maintenance dept said it will still heat the engine, but I sensed some hesitation in his voice so i want to be sure as it's suppose to get nasty cold here the next few days.

If you plug it in after the engine has had a chance to cool off, then when you plug it in you should hear it start to heat up the water, it will be a light hissing sound.

When I initially plugged it in I heard a little spark, so knew it was working, however, I then shut down the master power.

The 120 volt AC plug is wired directly to the oil pan heater, block heater only. The master shutoff is for 12 volt DC circuits only.
