THANK YOU! 2016 CASCADIA had the same problem. Replaced the dome lights no problem but the driver and passenger reading lights would not work. After seeing your comment about polarity I took a couple jumper wires (couldnt find my multimeter) and tested the outlets with a bulb touching the wires. When I swapped wires the lights came right on. About to reverse the wires in my plug to be able to use the led bulbs I already have.

I used the cheap led smd bulbs i bought for my rv. I had to do some splicing and rewiring to reverse the polarity going to the 3 bulbs in the reading light but they work just fine now. The plug has 2 hot wires and one ground. I cut them and used 1 hot to the middle pin and made a Y to turn the 2 outside pins to ground. Capped off the excess hot wire. The can control don't care if the light uses less voltage or amps, it only reacts if too many amps are pulled. If your using regular bulbs you can literally wire a dimmer inline and the controller won't care. 2016 cascadia for this comment.

Some led have a non polarity chip...most don't though. You got lucky. They are not rare or anything but less common...especially the cheaper ones. Look for the words non polarity.
