What's the short answer as to how a cash advance on a paycheck works? (besides that you get the money early) Does it vary between companies or is it all work the same?

They are all about the same. Comdata and truck stop usually have the 50 gallon minimum purchase to get the cash for free. Some companies might put a limited of $250 or $500 a week.

The only cash advance Swift has (yes, I'm a Swift company driver) is up to $100 per week.
It will be deducted out of the next weeks pay.

It will cost you a bit.
To get the advance you send a macro via the Qualcom. It is sent to your Comdata card.
If you want $100 you will send the request for $105 to cover the cost of the ATM machine.
Then Swift charges another $5 for the transaction.
So getting a $100 dollar advance will cost you closer to $110 on your next check.

5 bucks equals a loan shark?
    Not even close. Get real.

I wasn't berating Swift for the charge at all. I was just explaining how it works.

    And get real again.
If you can't run the miles to pay the bills, maybe you are in the wrong line of work.
And if you have a bad week or two and need a little extra, just know how it works so you don't get yourself in trouble.

Doesn't cost me anything to get up to $200 advance per week, with 50 gallon minimum. Comes out that pay check with no "fees". So the answer to your question is, it depends on where you're working

I can get $250 a week no charge as long as I buy the minimum 50 gallons of fuel.

How often do you get paid?

I can't imagine giving up $10 to get $100 if I was paid every two weeks.

    JonJon78 Thanks this.
