Every response to this makes me more confused. Glad I have a Prepass nowadays. It might help a little.

WY scales are easy... They are called a "Port of Entry" for a reason, you scale when enterimg the state... If you have not crossed a scale since entering the state, stop.

If your load changed (picked up or delivered) inside WY, stop.

If you see signage directing trucks to scale, stop.

    Otherwise, hammer down.

Thank you! That is the sign to look for. Bottom line, if you see this sign pull in. If you don't, keep rolling.

    Crude Truckin' Thanks this.

You get that sign coming up 585 into Sundance. I burn by every time as if I was coming from Gillette lol.

I do the same thing in Gillette. I come up 50, see the sign, get on the Interstate going East and drive by the POE without stopping. Never had a problem even though technically I should be stopping. I see people pulling in Sundance going East all the time. I never do heading East but always do heading West.

Same here. Running 1000 gallons of xylene to Gillette from Dickinson. Swung in to say hello at Sundance, dump my load just off of Garner Lake Road exit, just before the white sign with black letters........I SEE NOTHING! as I haul ### back to ND lol!

One other thing to note about Wyoming that is different from other states is in regards to Oversized loads. Unless you are doing what they call Super-sized loads (Not sure what size constitutes that), the way you get a permit in Wyoming is at the Port of Entry. What you do is call the Port of Entry closest to where you are entering the state or picking up the load and get a pre-clearance number. You then go to the Port where they will help you plan your route and issue the permit. One exception to this besides the Super-Sized loads that I know of is if you are travelling the 20 miles of Highway 212 that runs through Wyoming between South Dakota and Montana they will issue a permit by email since there is not a Port on that stretch.

I didn’t see an open or closed sign going NB on 25. Around 10:30 pm, don’t know if I passed it while it was open or not. I tried hard finding an open or close sign, nothing.
