got home later today, rolled engine over and pinned pump, ran out of daylight, will go out first thing in am, but my question is where exactly is the timing hole on bellhousing? i am looking on the turbo side, there is a pipe plug there im thinking remove that? or there is an open hole just above it that is open mabe 1/2 inch hole, the pipe plug is mabe an inch or so big and half inch drive to remove, i should of took a pic but didn't, tryin to refrence the hole on internet with not much luck

im thinking it that smaller hole? number 1 in pic not the larger pipe plug

Todays fuel has very little lubricating qualities. These older engines especially, you gotta add lube to the fuel...

followed wore outs instructions exactly,truck started up , ran , smoked ,pulled all as normal, just as it did befor the injection pump was removed, all my power is back no more diesel clatter,i really appreciate the help, i ow ya a beer!

this may sound like a dumb question! but is there a measurement or spec cat recommends for the 2 screws on the timing advance? i would like to check mine to see if it is close, i have a feeling thet have bin messed with while pump was reinstalled, i took my avance cover off and from the back of the big nut to the end of the thredded nipple is .90 and from the very tip of the smaller inside crew to the end of that same big thredes nipple is .80
