I have a 1993 freightliner with a cat 3406b motor. I have been having problems starting it. It runs fine once it is started. If I loosened a couple of the fuel lines going to the head it would start but today it would not start even with ether. I replaced the hand pump that is on top of the fuel filter. Any ideas? Thanks
Check the inlet fitting on the bottom of transfer pump it is bad to come loose. Most times you have to grind an 11/16 wrench down thinner to get to the jam nut. Also check that the transfer pump is indeed working. If so you most likely are sucking air between the pump and tank. Though most times it will start then die when that is your trouble
