    I think that ford and Mack may have went to almost 99 with a mechanical being available, and I think that KW, Pete, and IH all stopped around the same time.

    8pn is the last of the C models in the trucks, it may sound different due to the parts arrangement.

    Smokin cat was right about the overide system. Freightliner had it as an option so no doubt Ford had a vendor who made a system as an option also.

    I have 8PN. Good engine.
