I had one break once, I was slowing down with the Jake on and thought the clutch broke. Towed the truck back to the shop and pulled the transmission. Ended up being the bearing the input shaft rides on came apart, locked the trans up, broke the clutch, and bent the crank.

I have noticed that any time you have an idea that is a little different than what every one else is doing there is negativity. We are not all he same and some want to do things there own way and different than others. Does that make me wrong because I am willing to deal with a large sleper in a truck with a large Horsepower engine and a 6"O.D. Drive line?? I would hate to mention the fact that my new truck may end up being a Twin Steer,Tri-dem drive as well. Not everyone want a Pete 379 with a 63" sleeper and a 13spd. Robert

    Touchy touchy.
You asked on a PUBLIC forum, so expect PUBLIC opinions.
If, on your next post, all you want is a pat on the back and a "well done", please make that clear in your title.
As far as Peterbilts go......Not me.

    Yep. :/

These past 6 months have been an adjustment for us, trying to deal with less horsepower. Waiting for break in miles before we change a few things and it's a big adjustment, especially when we're 85k and above. All the extra struggling has also taken about 3/4 mpg, it was more, but it's starting to loosen up now with 60k miles.

Get used to it. I have people come over just to ask what my empty weight is and tell me I can't make any money like that. REALLY
