Can anyone tell me how to replace the engine mounts on my c-12. It doesn't appear that I can jack the engine high enough to slide them in. Please correct me if I am wrong, or let me have any tips or tricks you might know. Thanks

Jack it up, they come out. I usually do them at clutch time if they are more than three years old.

Thanks, I just went and looked again. I have a cross member directly over the ujoint at the back of the trans. That is what is causing it not to be able to go up. The front mounts are totally collapsed also so I will try them first. I'll let you know how it goes.

Are you able to safely support the engine/transmission and unbolt the bracket from the frame rail? Might be a work around if you aren't able to get the engine lifted high enough.

circle h and spsauerland Thank this.

I usually get new bolts because they tend to stick/seize to the bushing liners.

Thank you, I got it. The fronts were so far gone that I could not go high enough on the back. I did the fronts first, jacked up the back and they went right in. Rears were metal on metal.

    spsauerland and AModelCat Thank this.
