Cat C12 opinions?

I did some reading about the engine when I first got the truck. It likes to run at about 1500 on the flats, and I take it to about 1700 to 1800 on a steep hill if it is a hard pull. If I am empty I run it about 4, and loaded about 7. You can make them yourself, and there are instructions on the internet. I was lazy and bought mine from Diesel Freak and glad I did. They do a really nice job on them, and I was happy with the service. Answered my questions, and told me if I did not like it, he would give me my money back.

These engines only seem to of had a couple of problems which seem to of been addressed with the major ones being cam followers. For what I do, I really like the engine. It is pretty trouble free, easy to work on as I do my own repairs in house. I put this engine right up there for dependability along with the N14. I am a long time trucker, and started on Big Cam 400 and Cat 3406A and B's. I really like the electronics on these engines, but shy away from EGR and DPF because of all the problems. EGR valve coolers leaking and so on. For a Cat and being a 12 liter the jake works pretty well.

I know is been a few years since this post was made but I bought a 2002 INT 2476 with a C-12 with 435k miles automatic tranny to put in in logging or pulling a tanker. Logging usually pulls about 85k and tankers max 80k I was wondering in your opinion would it pull good. I don't run no hills hardly ever. I already have a 04 FRGHT Cent with a C-15 and I have no problems pulling at all. Also wanted to know what are the things I need to keep my eyes on.
