People wine about the acert set up but when it’s done correctly it’s some kinda fun......

So you are keeping the vva’s ? Which I think is the way to go......

    dustinbrock Thanks this.

I am, spent all winter driving other people's trucks and weighing my options. I've determined I hate 16:1 si glen turbo cats! I love the sdp engine with the ball bearing low pressure turbo when it's running good..... best responce I've ever seen. I think I'd go lower compression if going bigger power but I'm actually gonna lower mine.

I am still on the fence as to how I want to set up the ivas, but that's all.

    Oxbow and SAR Thank this.

Not cutting the bowels to lower comp. Would be a mistake in my opinion.

Vva’s can handle the compression......but I do understand the lower compression angle.....

More than one way to rebuild them....:)

Just personal preference. I do not like the way the 16:1 drive, too laggy. How do you counter slower responce.... add more fuel, it's just not my thing. I love the easy responce of the setup I've got and the fuel mileage I get. I hear everyone and their dog say turbo delete and 16:1 you'll get better mileage but yet i save $75 a day in fuel every single day compared to a group of guys i run with hauling the same 140k loads on the exact run every day....

Keep us updated and post pics as ya go, if ya don’t mind.

I’m really interested to see how this comes about, and the end result.

The lag isn't from the 16:1 comp. It is from going to a single turbo over the twins. You can keep the twins with the low comp pistons and have as quick of response. The issue with an acert is the 18:1 pistons and the vva. lower the comp. And you WILL get a better breathing/ running engine. With the right tune a more efficient engine. You have to understand ,the vva, s bleed off the excessive cylinder pressure ( boost) caused by the 18:1 pistons. To a point.

Wonder if better response and mileage he is experiencing is from the MEUI-C injector? They handle more pressure, are more responsive, and atomize fuel better.
