PDI is good for a stock engine.............B model manifold is better
-
Pitts has ported and coated factory manifolds, has anybody used one of these? if so how did it go? I have internally smoothed one and its now at the ceramic coaters geting coated (including the turbo turbine housing) it will be interesting to see how it goes when I fit it to the truck.
-
Keep us informed,I would be keen to see how it works out.
-
I know about the B model manifold, I just don't want to lose my jaking power
-
No man wants to loose his jaking power!..........sorry just had to say that
-
The PDI manifold is worth about 4% more flow than the stock manifold ported and ceramic coated, also they're made from a better grade of steel to resist cracking. With the amount of fuel you will be putting into the motor.........the B model is the only way to go. It will lower exhaust temperature a considerable amount.
-
I hope you didn't send it to Jet-Hot to be coated. They will bead blast the slip joints to the point that they won't seal properly afterwards.
-
To an independant guy in Brisbane, not sure who because the customer is organising it. I would have like to get them done in sliver but the coater told my customer the silver will melt so its getting done in black. should still look good though.
-
Tell whoever is doing it, NOT to clean the slip joints. Any material removed from this surface area, will result in the manifold leaking there. On reassembly CAT has a special exhaust sealer to use on the joints to keep them from leaking, but it will not seal them if too much material is gone.
