no but if want the full efect from the better flow rate of the filters it would be a good thing to do. the new filter bases are about $25.00 cat part # 1/2 npt 3930618s 7/8 npt 142184s. i belive these are the right #. new bracket part # 256535s. the s on the end could be a 5 can't read my owen notes. hope this helps. in your other post you were asking about hp gain cheap. if you do the filters,flow through mufflers and fuel temp wire you should gain about 70 hp.over all

Depends on which F/W sep filter you have now. you have 6NZ right ? this mod works really well on Acerts. will improve 6NZ also but not a huge difference .throttle response. a little faster spool up.

very good at filtering. F/W sep just too restrictive for best performance.

I have a few ?s for those who know and can give me some ideas. I have an 03 KW T-800 with a C-15 MBN07129 10 spd. with 3.70 rears 441K miles. Runs 1350@ 60MPH. Cat says it has 435/1550 lower 6 holes and 500/1650 in top 4 and cannot be turned up anymore other than making it just a straight 500/1650. I have read a lot of what you all have been saying about what you can do to them to make them run better. I have the fuel wire on it and it seems to have helped the fuel milage (5.5mpg) some but I 'm always looking for more. Some days it'll show 33-35 psi on the boost gauge and run like a raped ape and some days it derates as some as it sees the big 30psi. Whats up with that? It'll get to 1200* on pyro if you don't down shift by 1350 some days. I just use this on the farm so I was looking for the cheapest upgrades possible. I was looking at the boost wire but I know it would not work on the MBN due to big brother but what if I put a regulator on the boost sensor and limit it to like 28-29psi and install the wire and unhook and plug the wastegate line? What limit do I need to keep the psi at with the stock turbo and what boost is or would be too much for the engine if the turbo wouldn't be the first weak link? 550 on here said in one post I beleive not to go over 35psi on a stocker. Run with the wastegate line off the other day and ran great till it derated and built a lot more boost at lower RPMs. Around on these small SRs the quicker take offs would be a big help due to about all I get done is speeding up and slowing down. The mufflers look like they maybe OEMs but are painted over so hard to tell.
Any ideas would be great, other than get a new one cause I could hardly justify buying this nice of one.

Need to get rid of the stock mufflers as soon as possible they have catalytic converts in them. Set pressure regulator to 29 psi.

Hate to tell you but the only way to get rid of ALL the problems of a MBN is to sell it, burn it to the ground, no drive it into the lake then burn it to the ground!!!!!!!!!!!!! I fought a MBN for over a year. New turbo, injectors, head gasket, fuel pump, two days on a CAT dyno and still the biggest, largest, piece of ##$& that I have ever driven. Even swapped the wiring harness, ECM, and all the sensors from a 6NZ and still had trouble with stumble, no power, and fuel milage all over the place from 3.5-6.5 mpg just like before. The boss got so mad he told me to clean it out and find him a truck to replace it with. I'm currently driving a 2005 Pete with a C13 ACCERT and loving it. Great mileage of 6.2-7.2 and more power than the MBN C15@475 hp.
