Eric and one or two others, I think when Greg and I first started talking we decided if anybody wanted injectors from OZ that they would have to send new one over. What I also remember is sometime in Feb, or March of 2012 Cat started having MAJOR injector failures with brand new injectors out of the box. This changed the thought process of finding injectors to use for Greg to redo. Eric if you asked me before Feb or March of this year, I may have told you that only a new injector would work for this project. The reason Greg doesn't want to deal directly with everybody in the USA is. He doesn't want a problem with someone not understanding how they work when there is a problem with the engine afterwards. Eric is a good example. little cat 500 has gone through numerous injectors in the last 18 months when some of the problem was a restriction/blockage in a fuel fitting in the head. The quality of CAT's new injectors is so bad out of the box at the moment that Greg no longer wants to touch them. Because when they fail afterwards everybody will blame him for the failure, when in reality it was CAT that machined them incorrectly causing the actuator to fail. I have two spare injectors that I bought new injectors for, at this moment I consider them junk.........expensive junk, but junk. The reason is I may install them in the engine and have them fail 10 hours later, heck it could be 5 minutes later. When I bought these injectors neither Greg or myself knew of the problem. Greg emailed me shortly after they arrived here that he was diagnosing the problem for a CAT dealer in OZ that was having multiple new injector failures out of the box and that my new spare injectors maybe good, but could be very possibly be bad. They didn't run long enough on the bench to fail. Since than Ive had two people spend the time, effort and money to have Greg do injectors, both set started from used new part number injectors. If you want to send Reman part number injectors than plan on sending 4 or 5 extras to get a set of 7 good ones back I don't want to argue with people over something they think is wrong, when I know from my own experiences that isn't the problem. Greg's injectors will out preform anything I've seen anywhere. The problem is the cost of shipping them. Fighting with Australia's Customs and the General Service Taxes that are owed upon arrival in Australia, along with the additional GST taxes owed for Greg's work and returning them to the USA.
Kurt you are bang on with what you say about other problems with fuel system, and the finger usually gets pointed at the injectors, my personal opinion is leave the standard fuel system alone apart from make sure the fuel pressure is at the high end of spec, that there will be ample supply for a modest hp figure, it's only when you want to achieve the results that you have then you really need to look at flow ! lets face it how many people will need 1500+ hp to the wheels.
Easy Kurt, that's not what I meant. I understood he wanted new part numbers, not new out of the box. You said OR or 10R injectors he refused to work on. I was simply upset I didn't have new injectors. Please don't mis read what I said. I left TDG to get away from all the drama and Superman and his cape....lets everyone stay on track. I'm just trying to fix my problem, that's all.
The word is a set of fuel force balenced and flowed injectors will b shipped to the USA end of next week, they have 3 levels of flow adjustable with trims. the standard flow then medium flow = 120hp above standard and high flow = 240 hp above standard ! add that to a good file in your ECM and the air to fuel the fire then you got a rocket , that rocket is also easily trimmed back without reflashing your ecm. that set is presold so hopefully we can hear some feedback at some stage.
Fuel force is what they will be branded for the US , they are made to the highest standard and no need to order 7 when you want a set as they are going to give no problems like people are use to. there is a website under construction to support the sales and information for the whole line of FORCE INDUSTRIES products , they are concentrating on performance upgrades and fuel economy enhancing for cat engines , there is alot ov development going into cummins products also.
Any advice for guys that are not ready for a set of injectors on an acert? If we have one fail , what would be the best thing to do. Buy a new or reman cat product. There does not seem like there is a good alternative .
Nothing to stop you purchasing a balanced and flowed one and running it with a standard flow untill you have to do the rest. It will still be better than reman. Not the correct way of doing things but we all know its tight out there.
Thats what i need to know. How much money is it going to cost me to get a good set of c 15 injectors from Fuel Force?
Early pricing suggests 600 a piece +shipping + taxes shipping price will be confirmed in the next 2 weeks. At that price there is not a large margin in it . i know it's pricy but garenteed to be a good product . nothing manufactured in the us compares.
