seems like your fuel filter restriction gauge would show high
-
The restriction gauge still showing normal. Kinda grasping at straws trying to figure out whats going on with it. Still get normal boost levels and such. Just has seemed to slowly get worse in power and mileage. Sounds ok too. Only other thing is I notice it gets a constant 'vibration' on a hard pull only, with boost up, that wasnt there before.
-
Vibration under a hard pull? that sounds like fuel restriction or a faulty injector. how old are the injectors? if they have done a lot of miles you may need a new set.
-
Was wondering about a fuel restriction. But getting full boost though. The injectors are not original. 3 w/ about 350k, 3 w/ 650k. Did an injector cutout test. Seemed to check ok that way. Any other good way to determine injectors? Took out 5232 codes and gonna run it again with next load to see what happens.
-
anyone hear anything from 550?

13letter you ever think our fuel at the pump isn't as good as it should be. my fuel mileage is all over the place. from 5.5 to 6.2. we haul 90000 to 100000 with lots of starts and stops. but it seems it used to be 5.8 to 6.5. i did increase 2 tenthes when i put 5232 codes in but i haven't checked with the fuel wire.
-
I do think fuel quality is terrible today. I do notice 'bad' fuel once in a while too. I always use Howes for some extra benefit. I didnt notice any power gain with the 5232 codes. And mpg has fallen down into the 5's even with running 15k lb loads. And it just feels weeker than it used to. Comparing to mid- late November, with heavier loads, just after putting on fuel temp wire and getting in the mid 6's mpg
-
It's hard for me to feel small power because of the loads being so different, and their is no big hills you can't pull anyway, but I did gain a little on fuel mileage with the 5232's. I like your IH if thats it, i always start a range war when i say this but my 900L isn't all that. I do like it, it looks good but it don't ride any better than yours and dosen't have near the room you have in the cab or the sleeper. my last truck was IH with detroit. I did not like the detroit.

BLASPHEMER!!
LOL
I have to agree, those IH do have more room, and a better ride. Don't remember the model #s, but my dad had a couple, and some friends have some, I think the hoods are the only difference, some slope.
Funny thing, Dad thought my '96 W900 with the AG100 rode better than his '99 IH, I felt that his IH had the better ride. I now have the AG400, and it would be a very distant third in a ride contest.
