435 to 550 can be done but I dont think 410 to 550 will work, I remember playing with one years agon and the 550 flash wouldnt work with the low power cam and injectors.

A 435Hp can be flashed to the 550 pre-Low Nox file and power comes out in the 475-500Hp range. The camshaft and injectors limit power to this.

The 375/410 engine.........if it still has original pistons in it, they could be aluminum. You don't want to mess with this engine until it's rebuilt using steel top pistons. If it is a multi-torque...........set the rating number in configuration files to the highest possible setting and leave it alone.

Mr Haney,I rebuilt my 435hp and it was a motor with aluminum top/steel skirt pistons so i rebuilt with the same type of piston. It was uprated to 475/1750, am i handcuffed past this? Would a PDI ecm, cam and michigan turbo create some aluminum scrap inside my motor? Its a 5EK02306 arr#1098791

Ok guys I appreciate the help and sorry for not giving more info. It is a 3405 E Cat. A/R #1194836 and the engine serial # 5EK28373. I guess why I didn't give the 3406 E part was I just having a hard time even thinking of a C12 as an engine. But some folks like em. Yea the ole B-model is such a great engine it's hard to let go of which I haven't yet, got my fingernails dug in deep on them so far. Is there any hope for this E model? I should have checked a little more into what this engine was first but I didn't. The Pete dealer said they didn't think it could be helped but as you all know truckers don't always trust in dealers who really don't want to turn one up. So any and all info will be really appreciated. Thanks so far.---Oh yea it was rebuilt by Cat in 06 I think or so a tag on the side of the block said so. Not sure what they did but as usual they went back just as it was. Thanks.

That engine was built as a low horsepower engine, delivered at 355hp. It would have had the one piece high compression pistons from factory so as Mr Haney said be careful turning it up unless it has be rebuilt with different pistons.

Why would some one order a truck with a 3406 if is not going to be over 450 hp? why not go with a C12 and save weight and money on the initial order?
I'm talking about who ever specked this truck.

T800H I have no idea why anyone would buy less than 475 hp in a truck like this. It runs good on flat ground probably as good as any, but when you get in the hills "around here not much of a hill either" it loses out pretty quick. My ole B-models you don't drop a gear you just mash on it a little and go on, this one you drop a gear and ride it out. I bought the ole truck from a guys family for cheap so i'm not hurt, i'm just bent over the way it pulls in hills. I will investigate alot more before buying another electronic engine and make sure it's something I like.
