Recovery time is pretty much nothing. I had my lright ye done on a monday, and went back for them to check it the next day, and then the same thing with the left eye the next monday, went in for checkup and drove to prudhoe the next day.

They give you something that makes you forget it, while I was not asleep. I never even knew they did anything, until I was leaving.
I hope you have as good of luck as I had, I have 20/20 again, and don't even need reading glasses any more, and I have had to have them for close to 20 years.

That's versed talking. 5 mg into a human totally and utterly erases your memory recording in real time. At that point they can do whatever they want to do to you.

They introduced versed the moment I got cranky after my recovery once the tube came out and I comprehended real fast what was the situation while still half awake. And a needle of something else I know nothing about that pretty much took away the day.

I am working on fetching records from the office that retains them as patients go through the hospital etc. for that day.

The eyesurgery is not that difficult. The recovery was fast. If it must be known I was forced to take off a flat tire and jack on the second day using just one arm on the unoperated eye side slowly and carefully. other tire went on with it's wheel and off we go. Just one of those days.

By the end of the week I was firing the first of 10,000 rounds that coming year. Achieved proficeny in about 6K and there were other wonderful things to do that involves eyes. It was a amazing time.

Forgive my ignorance; Cataract surgery is a different procedure than Lasik is it not?

    Oh yes it is.

What they do is chop the outer covering of your eye out. Set that aside. CAREFULLY.

This exposes your internal lenses like a camera lenses. Open that up, cut into the main pouch from the side, remove the protein and the original lenses god gave you.

Grab a plastic or lexan or some similar incredibly clean room machined made lens and slide that into place under conditions that a speck of anything is not allowed to follow in with it or you will be seeing it the rest of you life.

Burn that slit shut. Make any repairs as needed grab the original corena and secure it over everything. Add argon gas if needed to clear the junk the bottom of your eyeball or secure the retinas back there.

Slap a steel cover over the entire thing send you home. Check you in the morning to see where you are at vision challenge. You should be at 20/20 if not better. OR for certain situations close enough to 20/20 that you have new eyes.

And thats all there is to that.

Lasik is primitive. Aim a big laser into your eye and burn (Grind) the lens until you can see really good.

Then hope you don't scar over. Because you cannot burn that off again sometimes.

There were A total of 6 nurses on my floor in my area so to speak while lording it in a private room, (2000 a night sheesh...) one behaved as she did not want to be there at all. 3 were battle axes but we were known to them and they were decent. 2 were angels. Any time that dont wanna be here nurse showed up I made sure I had absolutely nothing for her not even needles and medicine. You don't trust that one. The other 5 were decent. However I must wonder how long before they snap. 10 people demanding this that or other constantly.

There is a difference, I do not know what lasik entails, but I ask about getting it with the cataract surgery, so I would not need glasses. They said they could not do that, but what they can and do do, is they replace the lense in your eye with a new one, they can use a prescription lense for replacement and you will not need glasses, for an extra 10 grand, that insurance does not cover. I opted out of it and came out not needing glasses anyway. They told me not to tell anybody. lol

My insurance this years spending is over 64000 so far. Last year it was 18000 total. I am managing to reduce 3000 in cash bills down to a few hundred left to pay off. The ambulance being the worst of them. (12.00 a mile on top of a 500.00 standard call out non cardiac roll for 30 miles...)

Whats another 10 grand, if you can do it to it...

What I DO remember at the surgery center two #####es in the counter looking for copays. One squeaked at me and thumbed a printout saying it/s 5000.00 to you sir cash this morning, do you have it?

I told her what part of dual insurance don't you understand? That shut them up and worse drew expressons of greed and knowing to each other. (I turned them into Medicare...) and its been 10 years more or less now. alls well.

Half tempted to do my impression of a ozark good ol boy based on Boss Hogg of a sort.

    ACK! 5000!? WHAT ROSCOE!!!
