Thats awsome. Im looking to buying a 2009 peterbilt 386 with the c13. It has 435,000 miles. First thing i will do is the ecm tunining.
-
Stay away from the DPF versions. Those engines broke a lot of O/O.
I agree with those who are satisfied with their pre-DPF engines. I'm one of those. -

Update 1307000 still running. No rebuildMartinFromBC Thanks this.

I’m trying to buy a Kenworth 08 t660 with a c 13 overhaul any suggestions ? How are these motors im a 1 st time buyer . I would really appreciate some feedback thank you for your time .

Believe that was the first year for DPF on the CATS. If it has it, RRUUUUNNNN!!!
magoo68 Thanks this. -
He said there is no dpf or def in it . He said since he did the overhaul it has about 150,000 miles on it but on the dashboard it has 900,000 miles on it how does that work ?
-
That means it was overhauled at 750,000. Thus 150,000 on the overhaul. Sounds like it's been "deleted". Might not be too bad depending on who done the work, where you plan to run, and who you have to work on it later. CAT dealer probably won't touch it. And some states will/have fined owners large amounts of cash for "deleted" engines. Lot of trucks running around deleted out there that haven't had problems with fines (yet). Just making you aware of that risk even if it is minimal at this time.magoo68 and Cam Roberts Thank this.

What do you mean how does that work?
Just curious if you think that the odometer gets an illegal rollback just for a motor overhaul.magoo68 Thanks this.
