If you look at the tag the 410 is in kilowatts and then you see the 550 in parentheses, which is in hp. I thought the same thing awhile back but more I looked at the sticker I figured out how they were listing things on there.

Gotcha, so it's only telling me the MAX it can go not the range. What size injectors did it come with?

I kept thinking the 355 5ek motors came from the factory with 58s. @wore out could probably confirm or deny.

If it came as a 355 it would of had 10R0956 injectors in it, a cam that has a different lift on the injector lobe, and aluminum pistons that will support a max of 410 or 435hp...if its rated at 525 in the ecm id say somebody put a computer on from a higher hp motor looking for more power not realizing that the injectors are smaller than the 525 had their for they probably didnt gain any power and maybe even lost power by changing the computer. If its got the aluminum pistons in it you dont wanna try to run it above 435hp...pistons wont last 10,000 miles befor its blown up!

But the data plate says it can go to a maximum HP of 550 so wouldn't it already have the necessary hard parts to facilitate that?

That's right 56 injectors but didn't that 355 have a goofy cam grind? I kept thinking one of the low horse motors has a higher lift and duration can than a 1000 HP C18 marine motor did

Yes it did....the injector height tool has two different settings...one for that cam and one for the normal cam. Ive always planned on trying that cam with 57's or 58's. Wonder if it will work?

Truth be told the only 58 motors I've seen have had the 800 horse cam they say that combo has a choppy idle and it sounds like she's missing. I can't speak for the 1000 cam and 58s never seen it.l or heard it. I know with the 57s. Which is what my 1mm came with from the factory and my yard parts I can make about 1100 to the tires without having to worry too much (driver's truck) but again to it's all in who's behind the wheel and what parts you decide to run.

6 of 1 half dozen of the other. I have heard many who are fans of turning them up and making power and I've heard many who are happy with factory 475s as well just depends on your poison and weather you've got the money to tinker or not.

I can say my factory 600 cat runs a hell of a lot better than a 650 n14. I took a road test with what the mechanic claimed was a 650 red top needless to say I wasn't impressed.

JimmyWells, SAR and Oxbow Thank this.
