how about a cut worth of old 650 lb. boars? Might be five minutes, might be hour or more.....specially if they jam up the chute.Coffey Thanks this. -
-
Unfortunately I never had the pleasure of hauling boars but at one of the farms we go to another one of our drivers had 10 pig die on the ramp I was behind him but thankfully load outta another barn there. I don't like going to that group of peoples farms seems like we always have one or two die on the way up (I don't push on those I usually just sit in the trailer there and let them do all the hard work if I'm lucky maybe I won't get sent there no more)Swine hauler Thanks this.

If I had two die in the chute, from something other than over crowding, I would refuse the load. Something wrong with that picture.
If they pigpiled and suffocated someone needs to find a new job.Coffey Thanks this. -
I don't know what to do but I know I don't like it but can't say anything cause I be out of a job been talking to other company hopefully I can change job So i don't have to go there anymoeeSwine hauler Thanks this.

Can you tell me the cause of the ten deaths? Health reasons or handling reasons. What size stock?
-
I think they average about 300 pounds a head truthfully I think it's mostly handling and maybe a little health and it was summer so that might play a roll to but they are getting shipped to a slaughterhouseSwine hauler Thanks this.

Ya, they get stressed so easily, and warm weather exacerbates it, so you have to adjust your loading routine: slow, ......calm, ...... few at a time,...... give 'em room. Some drivers just wanted them loaded , now, so they can get back on the road........ Hurry hurry hurry,......but that's not a livestock handler, that's a steering wheel holder.
Dam shame to bring a pig to market weight and have it die in the loading chute. Horrible death, lot of $$$$$$ and effort wasted. Very irresponsible.
Must have been some very long faces over that deal. Totally uncalled for. -
Well the guys takes them out the pin and runs them still are still there and it that happen 6 or 7 month ago. And I can tell that the people that work for that farm got a little regard to pig health or well being and I seen other thing that im not gonna put out in the open but I don't really know if that is normal behavior or not but my boss and other driver seem unaffected by some thing.
I would rather be by my self and load than to go there
I should add I did not see them load that time but I came after the was done and look at it
And I'm not really in a hurry to load fast i do 2 loads a day and got nothing else to doREO6205 and Swine hauler Thank this.
