I cancelled my account with them due to their National Tire Discount Program which I never wanted to be a part of.
Can you imagine, them - the industry known and popular FUEL CARD platform - sending you a solicitation letter or an email stating that you were signed up for their National Tire Discount Program and that you have to call them in 30 days them to opt out, because if you don't they will start charging your bank account $9.99 a month?! I don't read junk mail...nor junk e-mails very often. I did not catch it until a few days ago...going through some of the invoices.
That's absurd!
It be like a lawn care salesman left a brochure at your door knob, stating that if you don't respond to it, you will be charged $9.99 per month to participate in their program, even though you don't need them.
Except, that I am on ACH with them and they decided to pull off this scam knowing that they can easily add the charge to my account.
I told them, firmly, that if I wanted their program, I would have had to explicitly approve my participation in the program, not the other way around. They said the could only refund me for 1 month, then a day later 3 months...3 months max, is their policy, they say. They try to negotiate this...LOL
They were charging me back to September 2019. I want the FULL refund! Well...it is not about money that they would not want to refund me, it is about principles here!
Suing them for this would be a pleasure....but do I want to spend money and time for it?
I'll try to get a hold of someone in the upper management, but their customer service is very IRS-ish and I don't have high hopes for that.
As far as I am concerned, they are garbage to me now.
Anyway, if you use Comdata, you had better check your monthly invoices (don't confuse with the weekly invoices) for $9.99.
CAUTION! Can't believe Comdata fuel card pulled this off on me!

Sounds like a garbage bin contract. Typically they require six months written notice to cancel service, then charge a six month fee for breaking the contract.

What about a big fat credit card or wad of cash? Now that you have 1.00 fuel?
Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
I thought that they were a good platform for managing fuel purchases and making advances to drivers on the road. I signed up with them when I was leased on when I did not know much about other discount fuel cards. I utilized it for being a part of Schneider Fuel Program which gave me 28c off cash price per gal at TA/Petro. I will call Schneider program to see, if they can transfer the program onto Fleet One.
But with this precedence, I cannot trust them any more. I don't understand how, otherwise recognized company like that, possibly managed to assign someone with such bold marketing "skills".
That's unbelievable.
Besides they, all of sudden, increased monthly fee from $15 to $20 and decreased weekly credit limit from $2500 to $1900 . How ironic of them to worry about me racking up their fuel allowance money and not being able to pay it back while they frivolously decide that I can pay 9.99 for they tire discount privilege.
GARBAGE!
I'd better stop typing this because the more I do it, the more pissed off I get...
You know.... not good to have inflated blood pressure like that....Last edited: Apr 18, 2020

They tried that tire plan crap with me as well after telling the guy the previous month I wasn't interested.
I never got anywhere close to the discounts I was told I would get. I called week before last to close the account, was told they had to have a email stating that. Done, then they call this week wanting to know why & what they can do to keep my business. The only reason I signed up with them was I was adding a driver & could set limits on purchases. I didn't want to give him a credit card with a high limit & worry about using it when he shouldn't.
The biggest discount I got was at Speedway,8 Cents.0 at Mapcos,4-5 cents at Loves & Pilot.
The rep also told me that their would be no swipe fees at the big 5,that was a lie, they charged 1.50 everytime it was used no matter where.Rideandrepair, clausland, Deere hunter and 2 others Thank this. -
Look into XPO fuel card. One time setup fee of $50. No monthly or annual fees. Discounts are mainly at TA and Petro, but they are really good discounts.
Illinois discounts today range from .55 to .83 cents per gallon.Rideandrepair, clausland, Deere hunter and 1 other person Thank this. -
The nice thing about the Schneider program was that the discount was locked and never fluctuated as is the case with Fleet One Edge.Rideandrepair, clausland and Deere hunter Thank this.
