I live in florida and am trying to get financing together for school. I am very interested in otr but at this curent time cant do it, maybe in a few months. I have read more horror stories than i can count about different companies and schools, so i have been doing alot of research to try and figure out the best method. any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. This is something i have wanted to do for a long time, it was my original plan when i moved to florida a year ago. My grandfather is a retired otr driver and i always loved going out with him as a child.

I'm from Florida also, where do you live exactly?

I'll tell you right now it is hard to get a load to Florida every now and then. I stay out several weeks at a time. I work for roehl, they've treated me very good for the time I've been with them.

I live in sarasota. I have heard that it is hard getting loads in florida which i found odd, i really thought this was a bigger freight state than what it is. I have looked into Roehl myself do they hire rookies?

Yeah they hire rookies. I was fresh out of school making 30cpm in the van division. I'm in flatbed now, its harder to get flatbed freight to FL than it is to get van freight down.
