That's when you call the your company and tell them the dock and space are two small, cell phone photos can help your case. I ran into this once, company backed me up and took the load back to the shipper.

That is not saying a lot. Heck some guys would take 3 hours to hit a hole that 2 trucks could fit into.:biggrin_2556:

I panned the area, but for some reason the building did not show up. Just a lot. Showed businesses and residential areas around it tho.:biggrin_2556:

ok let me explain it, the dock itself is not real tight but you back in off a 2 lane road....you have to do it without getting in the grass at all

i watched a central transport driver do it today in a twin screw day cab with a 53 foot trailer with no problem at all, but hes been doing that dock for 10 years

i did it every day this week in a single axle day cab with a 48 foot trailer and got it every time without any problems, but thats alot different then a over the road truck with a 53 foot trailer

the part that makes it difficult for a long truck to get in is theres a telephone pole and some other kind of pole right up against the curb across the street

You would be surprised what a road tractor can do. I dropped just out side of chicago one time in a industrial area. Had to blindside off the street with a spread axle. Fancy lawn scape all around drive. As soon as drives got in drive had to jack a 180 again on the blindside to back into a 2 dock area. It was pure luck that I got in so easy. No way I could have gotten in there like that again with out a bunch of pull ups. The truck coming in after me had all kind of issues. I think he was intimidated because he watched me drop right in. I made it look easy, but again it was a fluke spot. Just happened that way.

I even tried to help guide him in because he was all over the yard tearing up the grass. He took forever and liked to not got in. Point is in trucking hard docks are part of the job. Not all of them are gravy.
