Personal choice.
I ran with it on for many years. Bickering was always on. Hardly a peep about the traffic delays three times. All of those times, my gps has given me advanced warning to avoid it.
But, there are many on here that feel you have to have it on and listen or you are a worthless trucker.
CB, a dying truck driver tool, what y'all think??

The things aren't that expensive, right? I'll get one, but I'm sure as hell not gonna have it on all day listening to rednecks squabble, lol.
So, the gps traffic warnings, is that standard on "trucker gps"? Are there android apps for it with audio warnings? Does a Qualcolm (I'm sure I'll have one, lol) have traffic warnings?Lilbit Thanks this. -
Qualcomm will be nothing toward traffic. The trucker gps has it. Cannot say about the android apps or not.
-
i go hours without hearing anything, and Whatever squabbling i do hear is not that common anymore.
As i said before not having a radio on is like running shoes without shoelaces. i pulled over and sat out a wreck cleanup last week, it is still a useful tool for safety. Personally i'd rather be warned of a hazard. You gps is not going to know about something that just happened. But on the bright side i don't hear the radio rambo's very much... i guess the argue with a GPS or phone app
Blaskowitz, SheepDog and Lilbit Thank this. -
Must be where you run.
Mine would get so bad, it was easier to turn it off. Then, you get used to the quiet. Turn it on again, and they are still at it.
Like I said, personal choice. -
Ever been surprised by a hazzard that you had no clue about ? "must be were you run"Blaskowitz and Lilbit Thank this. -
how far did yours reach?? i find about 4 miles is right.. I turn it off in the city, bit on the open road I seldom hear idiots, their all busy posting on FB..Blaskowitz and bartley Thank this.

Only the ones that I had the CB on for hours and nothing was said about it at all.
Or the one that I saw on my gps and asked drivers about and they said there was no backup at all. Then a few miles later, it was backed up for miles.
I have a very good radio and can hear a long way off.
I rarely will even have it on anymore unless I am on another channel running with someone. -
that's why my radio only goes out 4 miles... sounds like yours is to powerful and picking up a lot you don't need to hear..
Blaskowitz Thanks this. -
True, but you would think I could at least hear over the median.
