You might keep in mind that antennas pointed at a forward angle are positioned that way based on the theory that at 70 mph they will be more straight up due to the wind effect. However, if most use of the radio is to be at slower speeds, it likely would be best to mount the antenna upright. Any bending over will increase the reflect off the ground and metal truck parts, which is detrimental to an optimal signal.Timin770 Thanks this. -
My guess would be due to the electrical connector. It’s easier to just screw on a pl 259. As far as electrical connector on my coax goes, I like to solder them and then coat them with liquid tape to keep the moisture out. -
Pain in the butt to take off but works good..

I only run 62 and my 7foooter is almost vertical when my lean is approx 45 deg..
