I use to own a "Blackie" Strat that was customized with active output pick-ups.... Paired with a 500 Watt Hiwatt head and cabinet...it would blow away the plaster from a room.....

Yet...in all of it's "coolness".....I'm came very close to becoming like Pete Townsend....deaf........I do however have tinnitus and it wasn't from artillery fire or being around equipment.......
Everything is "cool" until you either go blind or, go deaf........:biggrin_2551:

You can speak farther than line of sight if you have a good antenna set up and a low SWR.

No it doesn't provide power to the transmission but it can enhance your voice if used properly.

I have it in my radio...But I use just a touch of reverb, So slight that you hardly notice it but it clarifies the modulation a bit if it's used right.

However, Most idiots crank it up and I can't understand anything they say...Those people I just ignore.

Finally a thread I can relate to completely...
If I I know they got "echo" they sound like ####,,,If they sound good, and have "echo", I don't have a clue. So, why use it? I have heard that if used right is does this or that,,well I have talked to many that don't have it and I can hear them perfectly. I don't have it and I have been told I sound "lima/charlie", so why would I pay $65 for something I don't need?

Yeah.....................if it is a CHICKEN BAND radio! It's got all them /echos and noises and children's playtoys!:yes2557: REAL PROFESSIONAL, commercial and AMATEUR radios have NO such thing!!!! My regular-use ham radios cost around $1200 new and they have no such thing. No OTHER radio service except the CB TOY radios would be caught DEAD using such silly, infantile stuff!!! :biggrin_25520::biggrin_25520::biggrin_25520:

I like echo only when it is set right. When it is set right, it really has the ability to enhance the audio. I like the big radio sound, just not with endless splattering echo. Just the right about, with barely a repeat, not a full echo-cho-ho-o-o, it can sound nice. But that is real hard to come by these days! Always good to have a trusted ear to set your echo, not just talkback because most of the time talkback can be nothing close to the actual sound your radio is producing on the airwaves.
