You looking for something like this?

What ever works for you... My only question is how many stores did you have to shop to find the identical shade of green hanger, and ziptie?

@Zeviander You can shorten the length of the Gear Keeper, by pulling out the knotted end (nearest your mic hanger) and tie your own custom length. Otherwise I'm not familiar with the Pete interior. -
Dude..it was a fluke..Zip ties i had were from my race bike gear and that long green thingy..I have no effing clue where i got that..wallmart maybe..

TheDude1969 Thanks this. -
A belt mounted bottle top opener, genius on so many levels! I'm tossing my Swiss army knife, and my key chain openers, my friends can save their dignity (and teeth), my Formica counter tops will last longer, no more stretched or torn tee shirts for the twist off challenged, on,and on, and on...
I'm going to reverse engineer this and make one for the other hip, I'll be like an old western movie, show down at high noon... draw, and POP, POP I win!
My silly attempt at humour, but would have served my friend well this weekend. Thanks Rabbi, I'm forwarding this image to a still recovering over served numbskull.

@rabbiporkchop: This is what I ended up doing. Works quite well. Thanks for everyone's help.
blade, TheDude1969 and rabbiporkchop Thank this. -
I have the same issue in my 2010 cept I have a flat top cab so I have no cubby holes up there. Right now I can't use my keeper I just have a hook on my mic that hangs of the deal where my phone rides. I'd like to find a solution though. The older cabs were easier with all the upholstery screws over head.

I've talked with another driver and they suggested using a binder clip stuck into the plastic trim. I would try that if I didn't have a bolt to put the D-ring on.
Do you have any mounting screws/bolts over the CB itself? You could use a metal repair plate to create an extended mounting point. Something like this:

I added a 90 degree one to my setup to bring it closer to the middle, further out and lower down.spax Thanks this.
