You'd have to work out a support solution. Too flexible.

Ok, in the interest of getting length and still be some what accessible to me (still haven't been able to stop at a CB shop) I found a 5 foot Wilson fiberglass antenna that is top loaded and is tunable. Would something like that work? I know it's not the 7 foot y'all are preaching, but it's what I've found so far. Thanks.
-
Probably worth about 25 to $30
-
The 5 footer will work alright. You can find a 7' Firestik at Bob's CB shop in PA at exit 70 on I-80, if you run through there.
rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
If you had basic fabrication skills you can manufacture your own Antenna. A guy I know in San Diego made his own antenna out of an 8 foot piece of copper pipe bolted to the roof of his car and it works very well.
-
Rabbi, yes the 5 foot Wilson I found was about $30. I like that. I have limited funds and I still need to get the bracket, the mount and the cable, plus get to a shop to get it adjusted right.
Volvo, I run Midwest regional. I don't go to PA, at least not by choice. -
WalcottCB nearby the Iowa 80 has 6' Firestiks in stock. They work pretty well also.
-
Ok. That helps. I do get by Walcott sometimes. Where exactly is the CB shop there? I usually stop at the TA.

It's on the other side of I-80, across from the mini-Pilot/McDonald's, next to (south of) the RV place.
