I have a president Barry cb. It has feedback from the remote speaker and I can't make it more remote.
Is there a way to make the mic less sensitive? There is no in radio adjustment I know of.

Buy a crappy mike maybe?
Put a line conditioner on that speaker hook up before it gets to the radio hook up or reduce the amount of power feeding it. Or buy a bigger bulkier external speaker. -
Will try that, I have one on hand.

Let's see what you are talking about.
Here is what I assume ....
You have an external speaker and every time you talk, you get feedback?
If so then you have an antenna/coax problem.
This is caused by a few things but the most common is what is called common current mode where the outer part of the coax is acting as part of the antenna system and not like the coax ground to the antenna,
There are a few cures, one is to have a properly grounded antenna system where the rf current is part of the antenna and not the coax.
Sometimes this has to also include rf chokes placed on the coax.
And sometimes there needs to be rf chokes placed on the speaker wire itself.Powder Joints, rabbiporkchop and jammer910Z Thank this.
