if your looking for a real good deal i have it for sale it's the galaxy DX99V been tuned and peek, with all the bells and whistles, radio man in denver did the work he told me on the am side it was throwing 42 watts. not real sure what he said on the side band side i think it's about 15 watts higher, making it about 57 watts, slightly ellegal without a hamm operators license, but i was somewhat of a outlaw and did'n pay any attention to that, I only had it for a yr. or so before i was force to retire, like me it just sets around now, after 33 yrs of driving it say i have it in me blood is a major understatement, i got a #### load of money invested in my radio, i know i paid over $350. more like $450. then i had it tuned and peeked, he made up the coex, sold me two monkey antennas, and the road king mic., antennas were to heavy one broke off in new mexico, i throwed the other one away, and bought the wilson 5000 truckers, that make all the differance in the world, on top of cabage i could talk to drivers over thirth miles away, neaver used the side bands, guess that was for the frieght haulers, anyways no one ever wanted to talk in it, so i dont know how far it would get out. when in the truck stop and all the hate and discontent fires up it was so easy to put a stop to it, just key this mother and over ride all the cracker heads, no one was going to say a word unless i allowed it, i had the power, i'm not going to sell my radio to the general public but if another driver needs a #### good radio i'll sell it for $200. If you want a simple to use "BIG RADIO" then get a Connex 4600 turbo.2 pill built in ( 150 to 175 watts pep ).Around $425 if you order one online + YOU DO NOT HAVE to run the power wires to the battery.A 20 amp fuse and you can run this right off the stock power location for your cb radio and you will not see ANY ammount of power decrease by doing this.Ran my Galaxy 95T like this for years.160 watts no matter if it was to the battery or not.

If you want all the bells and 150 watts is not enough for you then RCI makes a radio with a 4 pill built in,not mosfets. Does 300+ watts, chrome from top to bottom but you do have to run this to the battery and you will pay at the very least $550 for one, from a cb shop you will be looking at $700......but that's just because they enjoy screwing truckers so much!

But if your going to do that...........then get a nice cobra 29($100).Do a good clean tune on it,buy a 5 pill dave made,Xforce ($325) or what ever amplifier. you will end up with about 700+ watts and not have spent nearly close to $700 for it all........unless you get screwed by a cb chop!

Shop on the net first,i know the shops around your part of the country. All of em will over charge you big time unless your tight with
    one of them.

On the other hand,if you want a real radio that sounds and has performance better than ANY cb radio ever built and if you really do have deep pockets and are not wasting my time then find your self a nice used Yaesu FT100-D ($400+) or an Icom 706MKIIG ($550+). have someone who has a clue do the easy mods to it so that it can be used (i know hams, dont start) on the 11 meter band (cb) and all you will ever hear from anyone you talk to is........#### driver, that radio sounds outstanding!
Or you can sound like everyone else on the road, its all in what you want.
