I run in the woods in the Carolinas a lot, ie US17 et al. The speed limits are often 60 and I can do 65-70 if I know where the bears are

Sure. A few exceptions where no one lives. And an upper limit of 80. IH10 from Fort Stockton to Junction. Can really fly.

I’ll tell u what. Im not opposed to something new. I’m going to give waze a try. I already use garmin truck gps for my legal route, google maps to show where the slowdowns are, and the CB for live talk about the bears and accidents. I can have my phone use waze instead of google maps. I’ll report back on my opinion then.

wore out, Slowmover1 and Timin770 Thank this.

Once you get the app, you’ll have a “waze to go”.

WAZE — like GPS, etc, really does belong in the Trucker Electronics subforum.

A lone thread (a related) thread can get lost to someone searching the topic.

My radio is very rarely off, I run the squelch all the way left, RF gain all the way right. Speaker in the corner on my left side I set the volume low but can hear the static in the background. That's so I know it's on thing. I hear something I bump the volume up a bit.

My point to explaining how I leave my radio is I what to hear all I can. I'm a nosey motherfawker. I may go 2 or 3 days and not hear a single voice. What I don't get is all the guys that say so much bs I couldn't take it.

Ya higher population areas there is more chatter but compared to when I first got in a truck it's dead.

How hard is it to not pay attention to the stupid ####. See the people that are spewing it are doing it to get the very reaction they get.

What is the compelling force in the human brain that makes a grown man think he needs to correct another grown man, or tell him shut up etc. If you act like they are not there, carry on your business like you heard nothing they will move on. The very thing you all hate you create I don't get it.

I can see the Waze deal has info from cars etc ok. But real time info from the opposite direction of travel is hard to beat.

My CB hasn't been out of the garage in years, dont miss it it the truck at all. I also use Waze or Google maps. They work just fine without the aggravation.
