Cb setup tips. All help/info welcome

I think the trailer .ay block when very close but help at distences....
I knkw a few hammys i talk to about an hr away from me come into my rec(on my 1 and only ant) much better with trl on that off,especially after i go past their home 20 a few miles..

 

I agree. I question that too. Unless the big antenna manufacturer companies, considered the 72 impedance matching on a co-phased antenna similar to the no ground plane antenna system. I haven't really researched it much to know. I'm sure that's not it, but it seems like a good theory anyway. It would be interesting to see how they came up with that.

 

I got into CB radio just before the big craze happened in the 70's. My big brother for some reason said I look like a nightstalker, so he pinned that handle on me. Now that I'm thinking about it, I should ask him what he meant by that...ha. I kind of liked it so I've always kept it. Plus at that time a new tv show called the Night Stalker was created.

 

Kind of weird speaking about the show “Kolchak: night stalker”, when we went out to California, we got to see the set and met with some of the people involved like McGavin and of all people Larry Linville. my maternal grandmother was friends with Ruth McDevitt and we had to deliver something for her to McDevitt.

 

That's a great memory. Not too many people get to visit a tv studio. I'll never forget when I saw the first commercial about the new tv show. I was surprised to see the title was the same as my handle. Then the thought went through my mind, oh great, now everyone will think I stole the name night stalker from the tv show.

I miss Radio Shack no one has stepped up to the plate to fill their shoes.
I've never heard of that Radio. Is this it? What 4 channels did it offer?

 

It is the radio he is talking about, johnson messenger. We never called it a white face because it was chromed.


Just picked up another bunch of tube cbs from Facebook market place. Got another pair of brownings, courier and elmacs.
