"Mr. CB" moved from the Oak Grove 70 to San Marcos, TX. He passed away a few years ago. His son opted not to continue the business, and sold the equipment.

He was the only tech who ever did a GOOD job on any of my radios. I asked him not to clip the limiter, and he was happy to honor my request. He also did the best RX work I've ever seen anywhere.

Actually he is an " OUT OF WARRANTY " Repair shop and getting on that list is no big deal. I'm not saying he not good but being on the out of warranty repair list is doesn't mean that anyone at Galaxy checked him out. I have been repairing since 1968 and have called Galaxy on many occasions to get new schematics or parts and every time I did Ray would offer to put me on the out of warranty repair list and I always declined because I knew others on the list that should not have been there and didn't care to be associated with the list. But as they say that's my opinion and there are plenty of them out there..

I can't remember the name of Ray's shop but he is/was located right past the Petro. He is a excellent tech. He used to work for Everybody's Electronics in Southaven Ms. I consider him as one of the best of the best. I hadn't heard that he retired. I was in there about a year ago.

He is still there, I went by about 6 months ago. Think he has/had a younger guy in there doing some work. And not "Ray Quality" work either. A guy brought a radio to my tech and said Ray had worked on it. He described the location correctly but not the radio tech so we wondered if Ray hadn't retired. The radio was hacked pretty bad, and Ray doesn't do that kind of work. My tech told the guy Ray hadn't worked on his radio, based on the fact he knows Ray doesn't do that kind of work, but the guy insisted he took to Ray's shop. Who knows???? But I do know now Ray is still there as of a few months ago.

ray is still there and doing excellent work, right next to the petro in the brokerage building beside the guard shack. you would not believe how many people go to ch5, which is down the street closest to I55, and swear it is ray's. anyhow been doing business with him for years and never had a problem that was his fault, in between everybodys elec. and coming to the location hes in now he was retired for awhile but was still doing work out of his shop at home, and still does ups/fedex'd in work for long time customers.

The tech I use says Ray's work is very good, and I trust my tech completely. Plus I know a lot driver's who use/used Ray and have for years with good results. Nothing bad to say about him that I know of.

Was the "Mr CB" you're thinking of named Dave Stevenson? I never dealt with him but I heard he was good.

I like to use MESA CB in wildwood, fl @ the 75 chromeshop. I've had nothing but really good work from the old man, but he's retired now and his boy from Jersey is there running it now and he does a great job too. Prices are in the good range and they won't sell u something if u don't need it. For example I wanted a connex 4300hp turned wide open and a matched big ol aluminum coiled antenna and he did the radio up for me new out of the box and told me I don't need one of those antenna's so he suggested a wilson trucker 2000 and in the color blue to match the truck and WOW I never knew wilson's can do the same as those big ol coiled ones. Its still loud n prou
