Lot of Bad reviews . Lot of good ones. Bottom line he is un-ethical. He actually farms out most of the repairs

to a local Ham operator who is retired & use to have a CB shop in Lincoln in the seventies. He lies & over charges

for work he does not do. I am lucky I finally got my radio back after after 6 weeks ! Still not working ! Took it to a

guy in Kansas with a real Two way repair shop & FCC license. He was busy but took it in the morning. I was on

mandatory break. Came back before he closed same day.$42.00. The radio works perfect. 6 weeks. This guy

And I refused to pay him anything. He is definitely afraid of the Police.

If the guy did good work you should tell us who he was so we can find him so other people can benefit from his work also.

 

Where is Custom CB Shop located? Anybody else know anything about them?

 

Brazil Indiana. He converted my Stryker 955, set the high and low deadkey and closed it up. No clip, snip, hack. That being said, I did not see an oscilloscope, signal generator, or spectrum analyzer. For what he did, I think $20 was reasonable.

 

Lol, no thanks. Converted it without aligning it? Why do you guys let a stranger fool around in a $380 radio for $20.00? He should have paid you for the practice.

 

I bought a used 955 that is all hacked up, where would be a good place to take it?

 

He did what I asked for. When I saw the lack of equipment, I asked for conversion only. I don't know how, so I had no problem paying $20. When I get to a shop that has someone who knows what they're doing, I'll have it gone over.

10-15 mile range isn't bad for now.

 

Long time ago I had a guy convert a magnum S9 by simply moving a pin. I specifically told him not to tamper with any adjustments. I wouldn't recommend running a radio like that for any extended length of time but to be honest in that configuration it outperformed most of what was out there running up and down the interstate.

 

As sad as it sounds, the same would be true for 242 technicians out of 250 technicians from coast to coast who are in this business to take your money.
