I took my radio in cause i didn't think it was getting out correctly. he said that the radio was fine but that it hadn't been tuned up. He offered to tune an align the radio. showed me how it was only getting 300 watts on his meter. then did some tinkering. Told me that what he was would reverse the RF gain knob. When he was all done he just packed it up with out showing me any results. when i asked him to put it back on the bench an show me some results kind of balked at me but then put it on only to show me the same 300 watts on his meter. His excuse was that his 40 amp powers supply wasn't enough to fully power my radio but that it would get about 400 watts. when i took my radio back out to my truck an hooked it up everyone said i sounded like i was talking through a paper back an that it just all in all sounded like ####. i ended up talking to a gentlemen in the parking lot who referred me to Bob's CB shop at exit 70. I went there an bob returned my radio to stock then did a proper tune an align an this radio now sounds bad ###. I will always have all my CB work done at bob's now as he seems to be one of the most knowledgeable people i have ever seen work on a cb. his place had 3 other drivers in there waiting to get work done when i went in there an when i left there was 2 new guys waiting behind me for work. If you want to hear more about the joker at the T/A at the 78 just go up there an ask bob how many of that guys #### ups he has had to fix an he can tell you all bout that clown.

I like BOB'S and DTB in Carlisle! The CB repairman in INDIANA is AWESOME too. If your antenna system is done correctly , either of these three guys WILL HOOK YOU UP! I trust ALL three of these techs!

Alright, so I've seen 007 off of I-75 Exit 33 in Tennessee mentioned, and said he was a ripoff. A couple of weeks ago, I heard his shop calling on Ch. 19, and figured I'd swing in. I wound up picking up a Magnum 125 from him, and he matched my Galaxy DX 979 (Dual Mosfets, Schottky Diode, Unlocked Clarifier) to it, in doing so, turned up the dead key to about 3 watts. He said that the radio would swing to about 70-80 watts, and would hit 250 watts peak through the Magnum. I've been kind of leary about running 3 watt DK through the amp, so I'm thinking about having it turned back down to 1 watt. Also, the radio seems to squeal now unless the variable power is all the way down, whereas before, it wouldn't squeal at all, so long as the truck stereo wasn't turned up too much. (I have the radio hooked up to my head unit's AUX input from the external speaker jack.) Anybody else have any experience with this guy? Any idea what he really did to my radio?

Also, does anybody have any experience with Ladd's Electronics down off of Exit 201 on I-75 in Jackson, GA? The guys are really cool, and I've had a little bit of business with them before, but nothing really major. Any input on these guys?
