Well there you go!! By the way, Russ told me Ray would be the only one he would sent anybody to in this immediate area. They have never met, but Russ knows him by his work, and recommends him. Russ has gotten two radios in the last year that the driver claimed Ray tuned/converted/etc. Russ thinks the driver's were confused with the "other shop" in W. Memphis because the work was not what he has seen out of Ray over the years. Point is, be sure you go to the right shop when in W. Memphis!!! Can't vouch for "Mail Box" but I've heard good things about a tech there in Tillatobia.

ray also does quite a bit of fedex/ups as well, he has a lot of drivers and a few cb shops across the country that air mail him radios and stuff to be worked on. A very fair and honest older tech that knows what he is doing, and you can take his word to the bank, if He says it cant be fixed or it would cost more to fix than it is worth you can count on it. anybody reading this that has lost touch with him, the new number at the shop is 870-394-4046 and ray is usually their from 9-4 m-f, andy is their evenings and saturdays.mike5511 Thanks this.

A driver I know sent a radio to the guy I use and claimed Ray was the only one who had ever been inside the radio. The shop he described is Ray's, the person he described didn't sound like it was Ray. Some of the work inside this radio Russ said no way Ray would do that kind of work. Wonder if this other guy did it?????? I realize you can't answer this question, but I'm just wondering if Ray has had problems with some of his help?? I've known of young techs to do some unapproved stuff to radios while the boss is not around. (This is the reason I like one man shops! Most tech types love experimenting, it's how they learn. I just prefer they do it on someone else radio!)

probably not, andy's work is very similar to ray's. ray has been traing him for the last 7-8 years. now if he had that radio in their over 2 years ago, under the previous owner in the same location, it could have been a totally different tech than either 1 of them. ray bought the shop about 2 years ago and for the last 2 years he and andy are the only 2 that have worked their in that time. anything is possible though I guess. at 1 time 4-5 years ago there was 4 techs in that shop on different schedules working under the previous owner, also where a lot of the bad rep came from during that time that ray is still trying to overcome.

country29 has hit the nail on the head. By the way, the place that Ray left in Southaven, MS has gone out of business. Terry still sells a few items out of his house, and by mail. If he had anyone's radio in for repairs, better call him pretty soon. Also "Channel 5 CB shop" is not connected with Ray in any shape, form, or fashion.
