I ask because lately I've frequented one of the truck stops in the area, Loves, Petro and TA. Yak Yak Shack is across the street (hwy 99) from the entrance to the TA fuel island. Smileys CB Shop is close by too , Smileys may be closed.

In the past I have heard other's speak highly of both but again, I have not visited either for any reason. Time would be in favor to one of these.

I'll give my two cents. Georgia I-20 exit 5 at Newborns truck stop. Bone rattlers cb shop. Yes it's a mobile camper shop but he Done great work for me. Tuned my connex 4400 turbo to sound great and pump out the watts. Also installed some predator 10k's and replaced coax ends and tuned to 1.1 swr. I recommend him to anyone. Old time ham operator.

Well, so far I can say the guy who works at the TA in Baltimore is doing alright by me. He did a nice job on my old Radio Shack TRC-446 today.

Yak Yak Shack used to be in Hubbard Ohio.
    Decent repairman but worthless tune.
    Nice inventory.
Smiley is an ex truck driver without any formal electronics background and his work is awful.

Oh yeah I was by both one time nobody was at smileys that day. And duh yak yak does have a large inventory but nothing higher tech---higher end stuff which is mostly what I use.

Steelrods--- for radio work I'm thinking not gonna ever happen with me. Pretty good parts inventory some of its hidden in the back room. You have to ask if they have certain things.
