I don't know of any such shops, but for 50 bucks I'd buy a small Cobra, Uniden or Midland as a back-up and use it when the main radio is kaput. That gives time to find a decent tech.

Windmill Hill and rabbiporkchop Thank this.

Yeap, they can run them through window and doors so that after a short time they are useless...lazy techs do that to the un knowing....
There is a cb shop just north of charlotte on the 77 in a pilot parkin lot..Their so called antenna guy did that on a volvo..Charged me a small chunk of change for it to...1st rainfall after it leaked like crazy..I learned sence then to not be in a rush and find a way to do it myself..

I agree. I did just that...Came into work one night with a loaner and no radio. Purchased a Uniden Pro 520XL and keep it in a small soft lunchbox with the rest of my spare electronic junk. Good little radio.

Lol....Imagine what they might have done to the inside of the radio..
Common sence and a clean install with good work keepem commin back...I bet that place get alot of one time sales..
Most times i walk in the so called shop, take a look and then decide on if im gonna buy or what ever..
A nice clean shop thats organized and deciently stocked will make me come back,a shabby shop that got crap all over the place, dust bunny and tumble weeds jjst get to see the heels of my sneekers..
