Still waiting for someone to chime in or maybe would be better going on you tube when you hear guys taking about there swing , dead key , and drive I’m pressuring running an Amp
-
Wow ... again ...
Let's start with the dead key - carrier power without modulation.
Swing is the carrier power with modulation.
Having an amp doesn't mean a thing, the radio does this. The radio drives the amp as the amplifies the input signal.
That's a simplified version.Deere hunter Thanks this. -
you guys complicate things I’ve never heard this only in this states I’m gonna ask in some Facebook groups to break it down a little better .Deere hunter Thanks this.
-
I don't get what you are looking for, you are getting a simplified version of what it means, not a yahoo explanation.Deere hunter Thanks this.

Dead key-the amount of power put out When you click the mic button but don’t talk into it.
swing-The amount of power put out when you click the mic button and speak into it.
barefoot – running the radio without an external amplifier.
drive- example: ‘My cobra 29 is driving a two pill.’ This means your radio, a cobra 29, is supplying the signal to an amplifier with two transistors.Last edited: Apr 12, 2020
