I was told this one is better because it gets it out past the mirror and truck from it being low on where the mirror mounts to the door

Anyone know a good meter to check swr and watts? Need one that can handle at least 200 watts

I got a 636 mic for it. Just installed it and was talking to someone 20 miles away on the other side of downtown Orlando Florida with the antenna facing in the opposite direction. They said it was the best sounding they've heard but I needed to get a different antenna. I can't get my swr above a 1:1

What do you mean you has the antennas facing the opposite direction ? They only go vertical. And, for an antenna, if your on a budget, Francis is the only way to go.

Got this thing hooked up and was easily talking 20 miles. People always ask what I'm running and can't believe it's a cobra 29 lx. I will be sending my other cbs in at home for this treatment. Now I am playing with different antennas to see which works best on this freightshaker

Not everybody has the common sense to keep their antennas vertical. Some guys like to lay their antennas Horizontal. Why I have no idea.

    Diesel Dave Thanks this.

It only gets hot if you keep it keyed up for long periods and the antenna is almost vertical. The rfx is great. Always get great reports and talks over all the nonsense when I need to. Most of the time I run it barefoot unless I need it
